Application and production method of dimethylphenol
chemical property
White needle crystal. Soluble in water and ethanol.
purpose
It is used to make phenolic resin, medicine, insecticide, dye and explosive
purpose
3,5-dimethylphenol is an intermediate for the preparation of carbamate insecticide methomyl. It can also be used in the production of rubber accelerator, anti-aging agent, medicine, perfume, phenolic resin, etc. it can also be used as an additive for cold rolling oil, which can prolong the service life of cold rolling oil.
purpose
It is used to produce insecticide, rubber accelerator, antioxidant, medicine, perfume, phenolic resin, etc. It can also be used as additive for cold rolling oil, which can prolong the service life of cold rolling oil.
Production method
Industrial grade 3,5-Xylenol was obtained by distillation of mixed 3,5-Xylenol, collection of 218-222 ℃ fraction, cooling crystallization and centrifugation. After recrystallization with toluene, the product with purity of 98% was obtained. M-xylene was sulfonated with concentrated sulfuric acid at 185 ℃, neutralized at 60-90 ℃, fused with alkali at 350 ℃, acidified with sulfuric acid, and finally distilled under reduced pressure to obtain 3,5-Xylenol in 65% yield.
